After a slow start this year, we are now officially in KITTEN SEASON.

The Philadelphia animal control shelter takes every animal surrendered- many being surrendered now are kittens with and without moms. Some of the mom cats are unwell and not able to nurse all of her kittens so their meals are supplemented with KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer). The shelter has a limited amount of room and they need to get kittens out of the shelter immediately, so they don’t get sick, and into foster care or rescue. Kittens nurse until they are 4-5 weeks ago. KMR is expensive and keep some great families from being able to foster kittens. The Philadelphia animal control shelter never wants to lose a baby once it’s in their care, and Philadoptables wants is giving every single baby a fighting chance. Approximately 2,500 cats and kittens went into foster care in 2010 and this year the numbers are expected to rise!
We are asking for donations to provide the shelter with KMR to save all the kittens that come in. Bottle feeders are nursed the day they come in by shelter staff and volunteers and then by their foster parents. KMR is VITAL to their survival.
Please consider donating to our KMR Drive. Our new shirts cost Philadoptables $7 (white) and $9 (colors) each. A minimum donation of $15 (white) and $18 (colors) will get you our undying gratitude and a fab new Philadoptables shirt!

It will also help us with our KMR Drive!
